The Black Death Plague Doctor:

A plague doctor was a special medical physician who saw those who had the Bubonic Plague. In the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, some doctors wore a beak-like mask which was filled with aromatic items. The masks were designed to protect them from putrid air, which (according to the miasmatic theory of disease) was seen as the cause of infection. The protective suit consisted of a heavy fabric overcoat that was waxed. A wooden cane pointer was used to help examine the patient without touching.

Colonel Remy Van Lierde(A Belgian pilot who fought during WW2) allegedly claimed that he saw a giant snake in the Katanga region of the Belgian Congo while he was returning from a mission via a helicopter. He went back so someone could take a picture of it (the 2nd pic is a close-up) while trying to get close. He said that it was about 50 ft in length and it rose up approximately 10 feet, giving the impression it would have attacked the helicopter if it had been within striking range.
